The Operational Challenge

The unit packs syrup and suspension bottles in 60 ml, 100 ml and 200 ml sizes. Labels were applied by hand by a team of six operators on every shift. By the end of a shift, fatigue showed: labels sat crooked, some had air bubbles, and a few lacked clear batch visibility. Rejections during quality checks were frequent, and the line below the filling machine could never keep pace with the filling speed. The client wanted a machine that handled all three bottle sizes with fast changeover, without a major layout change.
