The Operational Challenge

The unit packs pickles, sauces and spreads in square jars of 200 g, 500 g and 1 kg. Labels were stuck by hand, and by evening the work slowed down and labels ended up uneven. Some jars had slightly damp or oily outer surfaces, so labels lifted at the edges. Each jar must also carry clearly readable information such as ingredients, weight and expiry date, so crooked or torn labels meant relabeling. Wasted label rolls were also adding to monthly packing costs.

A food label does two jobs: it sells the product and it carries the information a buyer needs. If it is crooked or peeling, both jobs suffer. Deep Engineers builds sticker labeling machines at its own facility in Vatva, Ahmedabad. This case study follows a Rajkot food unit that switched from hand labeling to a square sticker labeling machine, and what it gained on the packing line.

FAQs

Q1. Can one square sticker labeling machine handle different jar sizes?

  • Yes. In this project, one machine labeled three square jar sizes. Operators adjust the guides and select the saved setting on the touch screen for each size.

Q2. Will labels stay on jars in a food production environment?

  • Label hold depends on the label material, adhesive and jar surface. We run a trial with your own jars and labels before dispatch so you can confirm the result before the machine reaches your plant.

Q3. How does the machine reduce label wastage?

  • A sensor detects each jar and dispenses the label only when the jar is in position. This avoids the misfeeds and misplaced labels that waste label rolls during manual or poorly aligned labeling.

Q4. How do I get a quote for a square sticker labeling machine?

  • Share your jar or bottle size, label size and the output you need per minute. The Deep Engineers team will recommend a suitable model and send a quote, with a demo on request.
